hey. sorry it has been so long! update:
two weekends ago i went to san sebastian with my friend from middle school, dan. i was a little sick but overall it was a good time and was really really pretty. we had perfect weather on saturday and just hung out by the beach, hiked a mountain, etc. and the whole weekend only cost me like 100€! i am good!
i just got home from amsterdam last night. it was great. i had booked the wrong flight and went on wednesday alone. well, turns out it wasn't so bad. i got myself there (miracle) and just walked around and explored and then at night i met some girls and we went to a comedy show. the next morning my friends all got there and we did a TON of walking and a TON of eating. we were all so excited not to be eating sandwiches and fried food from our señoras that we just loved every bite of food we had. haha. i think maybe i gained at least 10 lbs from sweets alone.

amsterdam is cute. its all canals and townhouses... i would love to have a townhouse there. old, big windows, good view... oh maybe someday! haha i'm dreaming...
this week is going to be terrible. i have a paper due tomorrow, a paper and presentation on wednesday, and two tests on wednesday-- both all in spanish! and what am i doing? sitting online in our library. haha. me and my friend leave thursday for spring break! i am so excited. we have our plane tickets, our hostels booked... we just need to get our train tickets (which i think we are going to do there) and figure out how to pack 13 days into my backpack which is not as big as i should have gotten!
it is all exciting but tiring. traveling really takes it out of you. especially when stuff like last night happens: we got in too late to take the train so had to take the bus which costs 4€ but i didnt have any money so my friend had to pay for me. then when i get to plaça catalunya i see my bus and i'm super excited because the bus is quicker and easier than the metro. well when i get on, my ticket wont work and i cant pay the rate because i have no cash. so i try the metro, realize my ticket is expired and try to buy a new one. but it wont take my credit card because i dont have a pin and it wont take my debit card because the pin is too long! so i had to leave, find an ATM, get cash. then the machine says it doesn't take 50s but thats all i have. finally a guy helped me and we had a really extensive conversation in spanish (while the other lady was doing something to make my ticket work because it wouldnt...). he was telling me how he wanted to go to NY because of some jack nicholson movie... and that arizona was like cowboys and gun slingers. yeah... sooo i finally get home and our door is locked. like, the chain. so i try to call my roommate (forgot shes out of town) and i called my señora 25 times at least but she was sound asleep in her room with the TV blaring. so i rang the door bell, knocked, didnt want to piss the neighbors off so i finally just sat down and cried. haha. i was just too tired and did not want to sleep outside our door. finally my host brother came and was like ¿qué pasa? and i was just crying and ranting to him in english about how i was sitting outside the door for 30 minutes and i knew he didnt understand and probably thought i was crazy...
but! overall, it was a good trip. and i realized that i can do things on my own AND go 4 days with one shower and about 2 shirts.. haha. well, i should go be productive. aka eat my sandwich and go home!

I am so proud of you for doing all those things by yourself and I am very jealous of what all you have gotten to do.
