just to be loved and to love in return.

sometimes in life all we see are the obstacles. when we focus on the problem instead of trying to find a solution, or the light at the end of the tunnel, then of course we will be crushed by the weight pressing down upon us. of course we will give up, give in, more easily.

we cannot carry our burdens alone. no one can. if you try, you will be crushed. we can't carry the weight of the world on our shoulders. we can't solve everyone's problems, we can't help everyone.

but, we can love. we can let ourselves be loved. we can help. and let others help us. sometimes it is easier to help others then let others help us. because it requires us to be humble, to set aside our pride and realize that other people just might have more to offer us than we can give to ourselves. sometimes we talk and sometimes we listen. and sometimes no one has to say anything at all. sometimes you just know and knowing is enough.

if the beatles were right and love is all we need, then some people have nothing. and some people have all they'll ever need. i envy these people.

sometimes you learn from other people's mistakes and sometimes you have to make them yourself before you can believe anyone. sometimes you learn your lesson the first time, and sometimes you do it again and again before you even begin to scratch the surface of understanding. so i guess that means letting others make their own mistakes and hoping they learn from it, no matter how much it hurts us to watch.

like a car crash, you feel horrible, but you can't look away.
